Recently God has taken me on a journey. A slow journey of course, but one full of beauty and fulfillment. I have come to understand that God has created me to be who I am on purpose. He has made me to function best at a slow speed, and He has taught me that there it a lot to be gleaned from living life slowly.
I finally have come to a place where I have internalized God's gentle voice telling me to stop striving to be someone that I am not. To embrace who I am instead of who I am not. To discover contentment and incredible joy right here. Join me as I share what I am learning about life in the slow lane.
This is a beautiful post, Anne.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words! They mean a lot to me.
DeleteI am so proud of you to be embracing who God created you to be.
ReplyDeleteI of course have always enjoyed you just the way you are...I of course think you are PERFECT just the way you are!
You come by the "slowness" naturally. That gene was passed to you from a very special person. Anyone who takes after him is very lucky indeed.
I am lucky indeed! I feel very blessed to have such an amazing father. I am also blessed to have a mother who accepted my slowness and didn't rush me. Thank you!
DeleteBlessings to you, Anne, which flows to your family. You are an awesome daughter-in-law! I also enjoy washing dishes and just 'putzin' around my home. I find myself humming and singing without even realizing it, which reflects pure contentment. Taking things a little slower makes it easier sometimes to hear God speaking to us.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You are so right about hearing God speak to us when we slow down. Such a great blessing!
